Brian is the Chief Executive Chair of UKWHO and a clinical researcher with the Medical Research Council Unit for Lifelong Health and Ageing, a PhD candidate in Cardiovascular Science at UCL and an London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine alumnus. He is also an active participant in global health case competitions and hack-a-thons, and is highly involved with social entrepreneurship. Brian’s first foray into the realm of Model WHO was OMWHO 2013 in Toronto. Since then, he has attended a total of 27 Model WHO conferences (and counting) in both delegate and chair capacities.

Mao is an artist and medical student a King’s College London. An aspiring psychiatrist, he is also a Pathfinder Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Mao’s first foray into the Model WHO world was at Paris WHO 2016, where he represented his home country of Malaysia and was awarded Best Delegate for the Asia Pacific region. With his primary interest in Global Mental Health, he was part of the core committee for LonWHO 2017, serving as Regional Chair for AMRO and Theme Lead on Stigma. He is also LonWHO’s resident amateur graphic designer/artist, having designed the logo as well as a graphic recording of the LonWHO 2017 plenary.

Emma is a medical student, who has recently graduated with a BSc in Imaging Sciences. She is passionate about global health and health policy, but is currently exploring all areas of medicine.

Emma is currently a researcher under Polygeia, exploring the effects of the Defamation Law on medical publications. She also leads the student team of the Advocating a Behavioural Change: AMR conference, working closely with PHE. In LonWHO 2017, Emma represented the Democratic Peoples’ Republic of Korea and was awarded “Best Delegate” for the SEARO/WPRO region.

Flora is an MSc Public Health Student at LonWHO’s partner university, LHSTM. Through LSHTM she became involved in WHO summit simulations by participating as a delegate and volunteer at LonWHO 2017, where she was awarded ‘Best Regional Delegate’.

Flora has an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Oxford, and has special interests in health systems strengthening and understanding the commercial determinants of health and disease.

Sally is an MSc Public Health student at LSHTM, having graduated last year from St John’s College, Oxford with a BA in Human Sciences. She is particularly interested in the intersection between biological and social sciences, and how taking an interdisciplinary approach can deepen our understanding of health inequalities. Sally was also a delegate at ParisWHO 2016 and both a delegate and volunteer at LonWHO 2017.

Michalina is a medical doctor from Poland who is a dedicated global health leader and scientist with a special focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). She is currently working as a consultant in Human Reproduction Team at the WHO Department of Reproductive Health and Research. She has been involved in leadership roles within global youth spaces such as IFMSA, Adolescent and Youth Constituency of The Partnership of Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, UNAIDS The PACT of young advocates and many more. She is the Women Deliver Young Leader, class of 2018. She is currently pursuing MSc in SHR at LSHTM. She also co-founded “Lekarze Kobietom” (Polish Doctors for Women); and supporting Executive Team of the International Youth Alliance for Family Planning.

Diogo Martins is a Public Health medical trainee from Portugal, with 8 years of experience in national and international health-related organisations. He is a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) candidate at LSHTM and works as part of the Wellcome Trust’s Global Policy Team. Diogo is a global health enthusiast, passionate about public policy formulation and implementation, with keen interest in the intersections between climate change and health. He has previously interacted with the UN system throughout the Paris Agreement negotiations in 2015 and completed a WHO internship at the Department of Public Health, Environmental and Social Determinants of Health.

Charlotte is an MSc Public Health student at LSHTM, and will graduate as a medical doctor in 2019. In 2017, she completed a Bachelor of Medical Science in bioethics at Oxford University, focusing on pandemic disease. Charlotte has recently been elected as Liaison Officer to the World Health Organization 2018/2019 with the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations. Charlotte is passionate about global and public health, and has attended the World Health Assembly in 2017 and 2018. She participated in the first LonWHO as the representative from People’s Republic of China, and was awarded an honourable mention.

Alice is a medical doctor from Australia and is currently completing the MSc Public Health at LSHTM. She is passionate about environment and health, and for the past eight years she has been working in this area, alongside her medical training, at the local, national and international level. Alice attended the 71st World Health Assembly as a delegate for the World Medical Association and crossed the finish line of Dr Tedros’ inaugural “Walk the Talk” event with marathon world record holder, Haile Gebrselassie. She also completed an internship and is currently working as a consultant for the WHO Department of Public Health, Environmental and Social Determinants of Health. Alice has also engaged with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change as a delegate to negotiations in Paris and Bonn. 

Neha studied immunology research for her undergraduate degree. After taking courses on international development and the socioeconomic determinants of health, Neha realized her passion laid elsewhere in the fields of global health policy and health systems strengthening. She formed the American Mock World Health Organization, Inc., to improve the level of global health policy education currently existing in the country. After graduating in 2015, she interned at the World Health Organization’s Gender, Equity and Rights Division, attended the Emory Rollins School of Public Health for her MPH in Global Health, worked at CDC for two years, and with the U.S. Agency for International Development as a Policy and Governance Fellow. She now works as a Senior Analyst for Abt Associates on the Health Finance and Governance (HFG) Project.
